Established in 2008 by a group of local artists and craftswomen, Forge 2 is now owned and run by Miki Bennett, following her purchase of the gallery in January 2016.
The name Forge 2 comes from the previous part of the old building’s history as a village forge. Hints of that industrial past are still in evidence, lending the building a unique ambience that visitors always warm to.
As a working forge, the building was at the heart of the village community, producing wrought ironware for over thirty years. In it’s current guise as a gallery, it again plays a role in the community as a friendly ‘stop-off’ and resource for local people as well as attracting art lovers from from all over the UK and abroad.
The gallery is a large, open space – ideal for displaying art, while the shop area has a cosy feel and is packed with interesting art and gifts.
Situated in the idyllic village of Culworth in South Northamptonshire, close to the borders of Oxfordshire and Warwickshire, Forge 2 is surrounded by beautiful countryside and historic villages – and it’s a stone’s throw from larger centres including Banbury, Oxford and Leamington Spa. Why not combine your visit to Forge 2 with some of our other local attractions and make a day of it?
